We are moved and up and running in our new merged location on Douglas Street and loving it. Our vision for 2016 is about building a successful La Luma community through enrolment.
Enrolment is like an invitation to a party. Asking someone to be part of something where they can benefit and contribute.
Enrolment is about empowerment, acceptance, and engagement. It’s about getting related and being in relationship with people over time. When you are enrolling someone, you are authentically interested, but not intrusive. You are bold, but not overbearing. You are inspiring, but not sentimental. Enrolment directs someone in self discovery about what it is they want or need.
In business, clients come with a problem to be solved, a challenge they need assistance with. Helping someone discover how to solve that problem is enrolment. It is about them, not about you. Whereas selling is “trafficking, merchandising, persuading or inducing someone to buy something”. The origin of selling is “to give up someone to an enemy, to betray, to take”.
Enrolment, on the other hand, is inviting someone to be in relationship so their problem can be solved. It’s about educating people on solutions to their challenges so they can make informed, powerful decisions. To me, this is honourable and noble. It’s a win-win. It’s about assisting someone in the process of self-discovery. And this is what meaningful business is all about.
