The 3 Stages of our Program:
Month 1 to 4: Junior
Beginning with a week long Orientation, the Junior Class focuses on developing a strong technical foundation, creating personal goals, and building a resilient team.
The following are some of the courses taught during the Junior Stage of the program:
- Foundations (Cutting System)
- Master Finishing (Blow Dry System)
- VIA (Cutting System)
- Hair Styling
- Salon Coordinator Class
- Colour Theory and Application
- Men’s Barbering
- Textbook and Theory
- Long Hair Styling
- E-Myth (Business Class)
- Self Discovery 3 Day Course (Guest Teacher: Laurence Follows)
Month 5 to 8: Intermediate
During the Intermediate stage, students transition to the Salon Floor as Stylists. During this time, students take on a mentorship role with the new Junior class, they learn to support their team on the Salon Floor as the Salon Co-Ordinator, and they continue to develop their skills while performing services on the Salon Floor.
The following are some of the courses taught during the Intermediate Stage of the Program:
- Short Trends
- Make Up
- Wealthy Barber (Business Class)
- Salon Project
- The Art of Hair Design
Month 9 to 12: Senior
During the final stage of their education, the Seniors focus on fine tuning their skills on the Salon Floor. Students independently lead their services. Seniors practise teaching and leading, as they mentor the Intermediates onto the Salon Floor.
The following are some of the courses taught during the Senior Stage of the program:
- Photo Shoot
- Resumes and Job Interview Prep
- Review and Reflect
- Grade 12 or high school equivalent*
*To be a licensed hair stylist in the Province of Ontario, you need your Grade 12 or equivalent. You may be admitted to our program prior to completion of this requirement, but it must be completed before you can be licensed.
